Want to become the best version of yourself? Learn how to train your subconscious mind with these 3 exercises, and live a happy life without fears and negativity.

Ever wondered why you do the things you do? Why one is happy and seems to have it all, while another is surrounded by dark clouds tormenting the mind?

The answer to this question is so very simple. Yet, so many fail to see the one thing that drives us all.

“As within, so without. As above, so below.” These short sentences perfectly describe the unimaginable power of your subconscious mind.

What is the subconscious mind?

Literally speaking, the subconscious mind is a collection of emotions and beliefs that you’ve stored during your life. It’s an automatic pilot that you cannot influence yourself directly, but determines 95% of your actions nonetheless.

It stores your beliefs, your previous experience, your memories, your skills. Everything that you have done, seen or thought.

Especially your childhood years (from 0 to 4) form an incredibly important role in this collection process. Many events from this period have been successfully stored and repressed into your subconscious mind.

A child with a trauma that leads to stored negative beliefs in the power of the subconscious mind of an adult.

For the (young) adult however, most of these events are forgotten, hidden and – sometimes as a means of self-defense – can no longer be recalled by the aware consciousness.

Here’s an example: If you never received attention as a child, this could result in the lifelong belief that ‘you’re not good enough’. As a result, the adult can remain stuck in a vicious cycle of inferiority.

The person in question can be truly oblivious as to why he or she feels that way, even when their well over their 50’s.

Other haunting negative beliefs

Here are some other examples of stored negative beliefs that can manipulate you throughout life:

  • “I can’t do anything right.”
  • “Why try? I’ll fail anyway.”
  • “I’m always wrong.”
  • “I’m too old to do those things.”
  • “Life is horrible to me.”
  • “I can’t trust anyone.”
  • “Nobody cares about me.”

Harsh as it may sound, what we often fail to recognize is that by accepting these negative suggestions as true, we collaborate in bringing them to pass.

Yes, you read that right. By thinking we are X, we are actually becoming X.

As within, so without. As above, so below. If you are constantly naming your aches and symptoms and discussing them with other people, you will give them power over you.

Luckily there are ways to change this. In the next paragraphs I’ll explain 3 easy exercises that focus on training your subconscious mind and changing negative beliefs into positives ones

How to train your subconscious mind?

There are various ways to train your subconscious mind. Below I will mention those that I’ve tried personally and which have proven (very) successful to me.

1. Train your subconscious mind with hypnosis

This is an obvious one. Why? Because hypnotherapy literally focuses on making changes in the subconscious part of the human brain.

It’s the true core of the widely adopted profession that is gaining more and more popularity each day.

In short, a hypnotherapist can make changes in your subconscious mind.

After discovering the origin of your complaint, often caused by repressed trauma and / or emotion from your childhood, the hypnotherapist applies positive suggestions so that your complaint diminishes or disappears completely.

This form of therapy has proven to be very effective against obesity, fears, sleeping problemsaddictions, traumas and so much more.

If you are greatly tormented by negative beliefs and / or (childhood) trauma, I’d definitely recommend visiting one.

However, if you’re not capable of visiting a hypnotherapist, due to a lack of time or financial problems, I’d recommend listening to Hypnosis MP3’s.

Below I’ve added a list of free Hypnosis MP3’s that you can try. All you need to do is fill in your name and e-mail address and you’re all set go.

2. Talk to yourself before falling asleep

The next method involves speaking to your subconsciousness before falling asleep. Why before sleep?

Well, the highest degree of outcropping the subconscious mind occurs just prior to sleep and just after we awaken. This allows you to reprogram your subconscious mind while sleeping.

This is actually something I started months ago and I am still doing this today. It’s an amazing and easy method to change negative personal beliefs into positive and constructive ones, almost literally overnight. I said almost here because, well, it does take some time.

Before using this method you will have to enter into a condition of passivity and receptivity. You can do this by relaxing your mind and body and eventually getting into a sleepy state.

In this drowsy state your subconsciousness will become receptive to your subjective impressions.

“I’m a strong, confident woman and I can achieve anything I want”.

Once fully relaxed and receptive, plainly state to your subconscious mind that you want a specific thing accomplished.

In my case for example, each night I repeat: “I’m a strong, confident woman and I can achieve anything I want”.

I do this over and over again. With full confidence, using positive formulations and visualizing the goal ahead. And honestly, it has worked magic on me.

It took some time for the results to kick in (approximately 2 to 3 weeks), but I feel better ever since.

Not only do I feel more confident, I also no longer feel nervous before important meetings and conversations. And that’s something that tormented me for years.

I feel like I can take on the whole world and continue pursuing my dreams. This time however, free from the crippling fear of failure.

I really recommend you to try this. Make a habit of it. It costs you nothing but a few minutes of your time on a daily basis. Do let me know about your results though!

Here’s another example of a woman using this method to change her negative beliefs: “Three times a day, I went alone into a quiet room. I sat down comfortably in an armchair, relaxed my body, and closed my eyes. I stilled my mind and body as best as I could. To counteract the fear suggestion, I repeated to myself, “I sing beautifully. I am poised, serene, confident, and calm.”

3. Repeatedly say nice things to yourself

Ever heard of ‘The world within creates the world without‘? Not only is the subconsciousness a collection of stored emotions and beliefs, it’s so much more than that.

All your experiences, all your actions, and all the events and circumstances of your life are but the reflections and reactions to your own thoughts.

Too many people have the idea that it takes something artificial to be happy. That we need money, a relationship, a journey abroad (guilty), or a bigger car. These things might induce a short-term happiness, but the feeling will never last.

The true secret behind happiness is actually incredibly simple: As we think, feel, and believe, so is the condition of our mind, body and circumstances.

What we think and feel, we create. We create what we believe. As above, so below.

Why negative thoughts can be your downfall

Never, and I mean never, say to yourself “I will fail.”, “I will lose my job” or “I can’t pay the rent”. Your subconscious mind takes no jokes here.

If you already perceive those beliefs as true, your following actions will be formed by those beliefs as a consequence.

If for example you already act as if you’ve lost your job (by becoming unmotivated, mean to colleagues or overly emotional) you could literally lose your job as a consequence of those actions. It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy.

If you think good, good will follow. If you think evil, evil will follow. You plant what you seed. This is the way our mind works.

You plant what you seed. Train your subconscious mind for a better life.

How to break the crippling cycle?

The key to breaking through the negativity lies in repeatedly giving your subconscious mind constructive, positive thoughts.

When these thoughts are frequently repeated, your subconscious mind will eventually accept them as true. In this way, you can easily form new, healthier habits.

All you have to do is to unite mentally and emotionally with the good you wish to embody.

Give compliments to yourself, tell yourself how proud you are today, repeat what you are grateful for and realize how beautiful life truly is.

As above, so below. All it takes is one thought to make a difference.
